The Disgusting Extent of My Laziness
I don't understand the sizes anymore. There's a size zero, which I didn't even know that they had. It must stand for: 'Ohhh my God, you're thin.' - Ellen DeGeneres

Welcome to the Global World
So, it appears I have a lot to tell you.
We took a taxi to Chicago O´Hare, and took a plane to New York. Let me tell you about that plane.
So first, the air conditioning was off when we walked into the plane, so we were all burning into crisps in the 87 degree weather. Then we found out that we had a mehcanical problem. Once we had the mechanical problem fixed, we found out about some weather problems that were taking place along our route of choice, so we were going to take a southerly route, which required more fuel, so we had to go BACK to the gate, and refuel. This means we spent 2 HOURS in a non-airconditioned plane, longer than the flight actually was. The flight took one hour and 30 minutes. Alrighty. When we landed, according to the pilot, we "surprised the ground crew". So we had to call in the ground crew, and when we drove up to the gate, the jet-assistant-something-or-nother wasn't there, so we had to call her, but she showed up before we could call her. While we were at the gate, we found out that the jet-bridge wasn't working. We ran through the airport, trying to catch our connecting flight to Barcelona, which turned out to be delayed. We then found out that 27 planes had to take off before us. We eventually took off.
Ok. In Barcelona we saw alot of Gaudi's works, and in Lisbon we did stuff that I don't really remember. I need to post this now.

In Chicago
So- we drove for five hours to get here in Itasca, Illinois. We have about 20 minutes before we leave for the I believe to get to Chicago O'Hare Airport- at least I think so, but no one tells me anything.
Once we get there, I believe we are checking in to the Admirals Club, which is a really nice club in the airport with hot chocolate and comfortable chairs. We'll fly out to New York, and a connection to Barcelona after that. Once again, I'm not completely sure. I really don't know what we're doing after that.
Anyway- right now we're in Itasca. We're staying a the Park Hyatt, and it's amazing. The lobby is gorgeous- but not like Victorian gorgeous, it's contemporary gorgeous, and I LOVE that. The room is great too, the TV is absolutely gargantuan.
If you're wondering how I'm typing this right now, I'm on my mother's laptop in the hotel room. I really hate typing on this keyboard. I wish the keys were more elevated. It's like typing in a piece of paper. Ughhhhhhh. It feels like the keys are too small, but they're really not. I'm glad I'm so good at typing. :) Yeah, I'm not really that good, but I'd like to think I was.
Oh, I feel so badical, blogging in a hotel room.
Where are my parents? Did they tell us where they were going? I'm not completely sure. Oh, this is creepy. Well, if they were leaving without us, they would have taken all their luggage. Wait, that's probably it! They're putting in the luggage. But we're going on a shuttle bus... oh, well. I guess it doesn't really matter. Whatevs. Oh, look! Here they are now. Wonderful.
Hmm... it appears they WERE doing something with luggage. Well, I suppose we should go soon, so I'm gonna stop blogging.

Today's the (D-)Day
Oh, I'm just so clever with my titles.
Okay, it's 10:00 AM. We're leaving at 3:00 PM. That gives me 5 hours left in this house.
I don't know how often I'll be able to post after this. Because I won't have access to a computer in Chicago, or throughout all of Europe, I suppose. Perhaps someone in the fam is bringing a laptop? I do hope so. But the question is whether it will have Internet access. If it does not, then I'll save posts as documents, and put them into the blog as soon as I can.
No, I probably won't, but I'd like to think I would.
So, I have to clean my room today- it's not actually that bad. It shouldn't be that hard. I always have this dream- or nightmare, I suppose- that when we come back to the house after the vacation, I'll either find my room completely cleared out from some massive robbery, or I'll find a huge colony of ants. Great, right?
OK, I'm gonna go eat some of the cookies I bought at Walgreens.
I hope I'll be getting back to you soon. ASAP!
Lo<3e,
KiKa

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
Quite the appropriate title, agreed?
So. I was sleeping in this morning, because, why wouldn't you? It's SUMMER!
It was around 9:16 AM. Without my knowledge, my ultra-sneaky brother steps into the room.
He has somehow figured out my awesome Hello Kitty CD player. He began to blast his CD into my ears, for the player is RIGHT next to my bed. Ugh. At least it wasn't awful music- it was "The Goo-Goo Dolls- Before It's Too Late".
So, once I was up, I went downstairs to eat some yummalicious Cookie Crisps. After I was done, I went back upstairs to work on packing. I originally intended on only taking seven shirts for the trip, but there were some I just couldn't stand to leave behind for 3 months. I asked how many I would need. Thankfully, that number was 10. Fantabulous.
We then went to the doctor's office for my asthma follow-up, because I had been having some trouble with my breathing. I am fine now, fortunately. We discussed the problems I've been having with my knee since yesterday- it's been in quite a lot of pain. Like crutches-and-plenty-of-rest kind of pain.
We then went to Walgreens. I purchased a knee brace, a magazine, cookies, and two notebooks- one is a Happy Bunny one that says "skool makes you sooper smart" and the other one is a Mike and Ike Candy one. I love them both. I needed them for my suckish summer homework- Read "Crispin" and write a summary for each of the 56 chapters. 56 chapters!! We spent a whopping $85.40 at Walgreens. You don't expect that amount from a drugstore... of course, I wasn't the only one who bought things.
We picked up some awesome food from Subway, and were on our way.
I've learned an important lesson- one 6 inch meatball sub is NEVER enough. Believe me.
I strapped on my knee brace when we got home. It really is an excellent knee brace. It has metal supports on the sides, an open kneecap, and 3 straps. It's also very comfortable. If I wear it long enough, when I take it off I have a whole bunch of dots all over my skin and I look like an alien! It's splendiferous.
I then took a shower, and after that, Mother straightened my hair. I couldn't stand having it curly. The whole general thing was okay, but my bangs look absolutely ridiculous curly. They're designed for straight-ness. Actually, for the past 4 days I've been keeping my hair curly and straightening only my bangs. It looked fine, really. No one ever noticed anyway, and that's fine with me.
Which pretty much leaves me where I am now. Typing. Posting. Blogging. Blah-ging. Hey now...
Blah? Blog? Blah-g? It's coolio.
BLAH-G!

A Tearful Departure- Pt. 1
Well, today was the ever-so-fancy last day of school. Let me tell you all about it.
So, I caught my awesome bus. That wasn't particularly eventful. I then got off the bus- noooo, really? The bus driver gave us these cool tattoos, but they never stick. She always gives them to us on special occasions. For Christmas, she gave me one with the moons and stars and fairies- this time I got a hummingbird. I don't like it quite as much as the last one, but it's still very pretty.
We went into the classroom- first and second bell, we just signed yearbooks and were bored.
Lauren, Sydney, and I went to Mrs. Ryan's room and played with her Interactive Whiteboard. Woo-hoo! We also played Webkinz on the whiteboard- it's kinda cool, you just tap the pen onto the screen and WHAMMO!! It clicks on it. It also draws.
In third bell, we read our time-capsule blahs, (which weren't as entertaining as I thought they should be) and then we did something truly entertaining.
Last week, we recieved a sheet with the name of everybody in our class and a blank space next to each name. I know what you're thinking- we have to write one nice thing about everybody. That stupid "let's get along" game. That's what I thought. But no. We had to write what we think each person will be doing in twenty years. Our teacher would then gather the notes for each person and then compile them to create a verdict on what the person would be doing in twenty years.
She read these aloud, and we were asked to guess who the person was. Most were predictable. I was fairly sure mine would be equally predictable, if not more so. Would you like to hear mine? Of course you would.
This person is an environmental lawyer, who believes very strongly in the need to abolish global warming- however, although she lives a serious life as a lawyer, she is also a part-time ROCKSTAR, singing about these environmental issues.
Fabulous.
We then left for lunch. It wasn't all that special.
We then went to our Enrichment class, where we watched suckish animation powerpoints that the students made. As we left the class towards the end of the bell, we finally told our Enrichment teacher that my name is pronounced KRI-tih-kuh, not kri-TEE-kuh. Which is what she has been calling me all year. I find that entertaining.
We went back to the classroom and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks (which is awesome), and it was quite hilarious. After that, we watched The Water Horse (which is awful), and it was quite suckish. During the three bells we were watching these movies, we drank soda, ate chips, and devoured much too many Twizzlers. Well, I devoured too many Twizzlers. What? I love Twizzlers. They are yummalicious. We then cleared our lockers of all things school-like and left at the Circle Drive Bell.
Through the whole hall, we shouted "What time is it? It's SUMMERTIME!! It's Summer Vacation! What time is it? Party time! That's right, say it loud!" and so on. We also did rollercoasters and roundy-rounds. And danced.
As we ran out the door, Mrs. Buken (however it is you spell it) was all "Girls! Notes!" And we're all like "FINE!" So, the notes are given, and then she's all happy like "Have a great summer!"
Oh, dear Mrs. Buken. We will have a great summer, because you will not be there. We piled into Sydney's car, and we were on our way!
